Animal Cruelty Charge Not Filed For Iraqi War Veteran

Jan 13 2016, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense

A 29-year-old highly decorated Iraqi war veteran had been honorably discharged and returned to the United States when he was charged with animal cruelty while passing through Bucks County. One day, he and his wife stopped for lunch in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. They left their two dogs in his parked car, in the shade, and with the windows down for only a few minutes. An officer in the area noticed the unattended dogs on the hot day. Using an infrared thermometer to measure both the vehicle and dog temperatures, he charged the man with animal cruelty. Luckily for the man, he immediately called and hired Fienman Defense after he was charged. Bucks County criminal defense attorney Michael Fienman represented him with a strong defense.

Our client was trying to get his civilian life back together and was working towards becoming a physician assistant. He found it difficult to continue with such a charge against him. Fienman knew an animal cruelty charge would be disastrous towards his future medical career. Immediately, Fienman called the police department and went through the chain of command to diffuse the situation. Fortunately, he received a call two weeks later expressing that the case went away and was never filed. There was nothing in the system nor on his record. All in all, our client was saved the expense and time involved with this charge. He can continue to pursue his career as a PA without difficulty.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
