A Doylestown man recently faced some very serious charges related to domestic violence, such as simple assault, harassment, strangulation, and disorderly conduct. The parties involved, including the arresting officer, agreed that his behavior appeared to be related to a mental health crisis.
Attorney Michael Fienman worked with his client, child and youth services, and the judge to reach an agreement that involved mental health counseling and proper medication. Ultimately, everyone agreed on the terms and if these conditions were met, when they returned to court in three weeks, the charges would be dropped.
Unfortunately, even though Attorney Fienman secured a second chance for his client, the man did not fulfill the agreement and the charges were not dropped. The judge bound the man over on all charges, is now represented by different counsel, and facing the full spectrum of penalties.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
