Attorney Michael Fienman represented a man with former DUI charges so he wouldn’t go to jail after being caught driving with a suspended license.

Five years ago, under different legal counsel, the man pled guilty to a DUI charge. His immigrant status prevented him from ever reinstating his license. Because of this, he recently faced severe penalties when he was caught driving his girlfriend’s car. Police charged him with driving under a DUI-suspended license.

This charge carries at least a 60-day jail sentence in Pennsylvania with an additional 12-month license suspension. For Fienman and his client, the main goal was to prevent jail time. He achieved that objective. The prosecutor agreed that the client successfully completed the terms and contitions of his DUI sentence and term of probation. Therefore, the DUI suspension was removed, and the client only pled guilty to driving under a suspended license.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
