A New Jersey resident and a star athlete from Villanova University as captain of the swim team, decided to host a party at her house with her team. During that night, neighbors reported her as being too loud. When police officers arrived to the scene, he also reported that he could hear the music from the sidewalk.

Due to the area being predominately student populated, the community and the presiding judge has a policy which doesn’t allow for plea bargains for students. Despite the jurisdiction, attorney Michael Fienman with Delco criminal law firm Fienmen Defense spoke with the officer involved with the charge and after, the officer agreed that if his client agreed to do community service, the charges would be withdrawn.

Despite the judge not agreeing to those terms, attorney Fienman took the case to trial where his client ultimately filed an appeal.

In the end, attorney Fienman spoke directly with district attorneys. After his client agreed to do community service, district attorneys withdrew the charges and the client avoided having her future stained by a criminal record.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
