College is usually when young people experiment with adult experiences, but testing these waters can create more problems than a student can usually manage. Such was the case for a young student at Temple University when police came to a campus house during a party. Evidently, the neighbors complained about the noise and when the officers attempted to subdue the party, the young man became argumentative. Since the young man was drinking underage, the officers awarded his brash behavior with not only breaking up the party but also with purchasing alcohol by a minor charge. The young man did not want to have an underage alcohol conviction affecting his education or even worse limiting any future career opportunities; therefore, he sought out the most adept legal representation available and found Philadelphia defense attorney Michael Fienman.

Attorney Fienman immediately began working on behalf of his client and began discussing the case with the prosecution. Fienman used his experience handling similar underage drinking cases and successfully had the man admitted into a summary diversion program. After paying a $200 fine and finishing this program, which consists of a four-hour intervention class, the prosecution would withdraw the charge. Due to his attorney’s representation, his client can move past this transgression without the hindrance of a conviction, hopefully having learned a valuable life lesson. Furthermore, after meeting these conditions, he’d also become eligible for an expungement to remove the incident from his record.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
