Client Facing Serious Traffic and DUI-related Offenses Avoids Jail Time

Sep 30 2015, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, DUI, Traffic Defense

A woman under DUI suspension after three previous DUI charges received was pulled over while driving in Glenside, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was driving home from work in her boyfriend’s car. She received several serious charges: driving with an unregistered vehicle, driving on a DUI suspended license, and operating a vehicle without insurance.

The citations that were issued carry hefty fines and a mandatory 60 days incarceration. The woman understood the severity of charges and became dissatisfied with the representation she was receiving from her current attorney, she then contacted Montgomery County criminal defense attorney Michael Fienman for help. After reviewing the details of her case and speaking with her attorney, Mr. Fienman accepted the responsibility of defending the woman and represented her before the court. The obvious client concerns here are exposure to mandatory jail time, additional license suspension time and significant fines.

After Mr. Fienman negotiated with the supervisor for the police officer who issued the citations, the operating a vehicle without insurance charge was withdrawn, the driving on a DUI suspended license charge was also withdrawn, and the unregistered vehicle charge was amended to avoid a license suspension. Ultimately a 12-month license suspension was handed down to the woman but no jail time and hefty fines were avoided. Fienman’s client was very grateful.
