Juvenile Avoids Terroristic Threat Charge and Gets Treatment

Oct 06 2021, by Michael Fienman in Case Results

A juvenile who was likely going to face a serious charge as the target of an investigation avoided the formal court proceedings and received community-based treatment.

The adolescent was accused of making terroristic threats to other children at a park and was allegedly yielding a deadly weapon.

Law enforcement was going to charge the juvenile, who had prior contacts with the police, with making terroristic threats and theft of a cell phone.

Attorney Fienman negotiated with the detective and got the juvenile referred to the Youth Aid Panel. This kept the matter out of court, costed nothing for the juvenile’s family, and provided community-based rehabilitative treatment for the juvenile.
