License to Carry Permit Successfully Appealed in Philadelphia

Jun 29 2018, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Firearms/Weapons

Philadelphia firearm attorney recently assisted a client when a blemish on his background was unfairly limiting his gun rights. The individual did have some juvenile adjudications on his record, and a police report was previously filed where the man was accused of brandishing an assault rifle on the streets of Philadelphia. When the individual attempted to obtain an official permit to carry a concealed firearm in Philadelphia, this incident was flagged, and he was denied. Since he was never convicted of a felony, he contacted a number of attorneys to review his case but none were optimistic about the man’s chances of obtaining the permit on appeal.

The man, unwilling to give up, contacted attorney Fienman who has handled dozens of Philadelphia Gun Permit Appeals. By having an experienced Philadelphia gun lawyer handle the matter, it became clear to Mr. Fienman that his client’s application was wrongfully denied. Despite the fact that the deadline to appeal had passed, attorney Fienman filed the necessary appeal paperwork and was able to have a hearing scheduled. On the date of his appeal hearing, by negotiating with the City Attorney and arguing his client’s eligibility for a license to carry, Fienman facilitated its approval without going before the L&I Board for a formal vote. The man can now legally carry a concealed firearm in Pennsylvania and reciprocal jurisdictions.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
