Man with Prior Criminal History Enters Work Release for New Theft Charge

Feb 22 2017, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Theft

Not only will a skilled lawyer work to clear your name, their experience dealing with the Pennsylvania criminal court process will prove invaluable when you need to limit the consequences of a criminal conviction. Therefore, if you are ever charged with a crime, it is always best to consult with an experienced criminal defense attorney. In King of Prussia, a man with a fairly significant criminal record was recently found roaming a neighborhood at night, allegedly scoping out the area. The police found some stolen scrap metal and copper in his possession and the man was charged with theft by unlawful taking as well as loitering and prowling. While any theft-related charges would be significant for anyone, due to this individual’s previous criminal history the sentencing guidelines mandated that he spend more than one year behind bars. The man was obviously concerned with how his family would survive if he were sent to jail for such a significant period, so he decided to find top-tier legal representation and contacted Philadelphia criminal defense attorney Michael Fienman.

Attorney Fienman immediately set to work to find his client a favorable resolution and discussed the case with the prosecution. After some in-depth rounds of negotiations, all the parties involved agreed to a plea arraignment that involved his client spending between 11 ½ months behind bars with eligibility for a work release program. Due to the man’s levelheaded decision to seek legal intervention from attorney Fienman, he could continue to work, supporting his family while he simultaneously paid his debt to society, which may not have been possible with less capable legal counsel.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
