Montgomery County RICO Charges Reduced to Drug Possession

Jul 02 2019, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Drug Crimes, Federal Crimes

Fienman Defense recently represented a client after he was arrested for allegedly being involved with a Montgomery County heroin ring. Facing corrupt organization or RICO charges, the client was exposed to potentially decades in prison, which led him to retain veteran criminal defense attorney Michael Fienman. After a thorough review of the circumstances, it was clear to attorney Fienman that his client was simply caught up in a terrible situation, and the charges were excessive in his client’s case. By negotiating on his behalf and presenting the facts, the prosecution agreed to reduce the charges to a more appropriate drug possession offense. This spared the client from a disproportionate prison term and a lifetime of collateral consequences.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
