New Law Allows Mother to Expunge Criminal Record

Jan 10 2020, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, DUI

Not long ago, a woman came to Fienman Defense and inquired about removing some embarrassing criminal convictions from her past. While she had straightened out her life and built a successful career, she did not want her children to discover a criminal record that included theft, DUI, and receiving stolen property. Previously, these offenses could not be expunged or sealed, but recent changes in Pennsylvania’s law has made some formerly ineligible charges now eligible for expungement.

Familiar with the Clean Slate Act, attorney Fienman presented her case and filed multiple petitions to have the record sealed on her behalf. As a result, every request was approved, and all of her past convictions were removed from public view. This was a huge relief to the successful and well-respected mother, who could finally move on.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
