Pennsylvania and NJ Marijuana Charges Both End in Probation

Feb 26 2020, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Marijuana Charges

Not long ago, we represented a client in Montgomery County on a possession of marijuana charge. The case was resolved with a Section 17 Diversion program, but the individual unfortunately found himself charged for marijuana possession again. But this time in Bellmawr, New Jersey while visiting the beach.

This second offense could have seriously jeopardized his Pennsylvania probation; however, attorney Fienman also practices in New Jersey and is well acquainted with that state’s diversion options. Because the young man had the good sense to have representation, knowledgeable in both jurisdictions, he was able to get a conditional discharge and another term of probation that would have jeopardized his diversionary program in Pennsylvania.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
