Reckless Driving Charge Withdrawn After Completing A Driver Safety Class

Oct 11 2016, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Traffic Defense

Recently, the experienced Philadelphia traffic lawyer Michael Fienman assisted a third-year law student at Villanova University, after police pulled him over and charged him with reckless driving when they allegedly witnessed him driving too fast and irresponsibly changing lanes to pass other motorists. Reckless driving is a very serious traffic offense in Pennsylvania that essentially requires the driver to be grossly negligent and carries hefty fines and a 6-month license suspension. The young man became concerned because he needed his license to get to and from his internship with the prosecutor’s office and his bartending job; therefore, he reached out to Fienman Defense based on his experience defending clients in traffic related cases.

Once retained, attorney Fienman worked on his client’s behalf and negotiated with the officer and traffic court judge. This led to all the parties involved agreeing to withdraw the reckless driving charge based on his client completing a defensive driving class. The client took great comfort in the fact that after meeting this reasonable condition, he’d avoid costly fines, a debilitating license suspension or any negative impact on his driving record.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
