Underage DUI Resolved without Court for Holy Ghost Prep Student

Dec 17 2018, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, DUI, Juvenile Crimes

When a student at Holy Ghost Preparatory School was pulled over for driving his SUV with the doors detached, he found himself in a lot more trouble than an obscure traffic ticket. At the time of the stop, the officers apparently smelled marijuana and confiscated a small amount of the drug along with some paraphernalia. This exposed a relatively good student with no prior history to drug and paraphernalia charges, and an underage DUI involving marijuana in the Bucks County juvenile court system.

His parents immediately recognized the seriousness of the charges and the need for legal assistance. To their credit, they contacted Bucks County criminal defense lawyer Michael Fienman at the recommendation of a family friend. With extensive experience handling juvenile matters and a strong desire to protect his clients’ long-term interests, attorney Fienman got involved and immediately began working on the young man’s behalf.

By appearing at his initial intake meeting, which is not always common for an attorney, Fienman got in front of the matter and discussed the case with his client’s probation officer. This ended with Fienman facilitating an informal adjustment rather than going through the whole juvenile court process. This allowed his client to resolve the matter without appearing in court for any formal proceedings, and if he stays out of trouble for six months, the entire incident will never appear on the young man’s record.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
