Case Results

We recently helped a 20-year-old college student who was issued a traffic ticket for allegedly traveling 31 mph over the speed limit on Lancaster Avenue in Lower Merion Township. (For those unfamiliar with the area, the speed limit is 25 mph through the township.) The citation was issued by the Lower Merion Police Department and a trial was scheduled before Montgomery County Magisterial District Court 38-1-07. Notwithstanding the fact that the client was traveling more than two times the posted speed limit, traffic defense lawyer Mike Fienman was able to negotiate a plea in which the citation was amended from 31 mph over the speed limit to 5 mph over the speed limit. Even though the client was required to pay a fine of approximately $135.00, it was a significant improvement from the high-level speeding ticket he had initially been issued. At 31 mph over the speed limit, he would have faced a driver’s license suspension, numerous demerit points on his driving record, and other PennDOT ramifications associated with high-level, serious speeding offenses.
