A man accused of assaulting a waitress in a restaurant on Sansom Street in Philadelphia had his charges dismissed and the client agreed to counseling.
After a preliminary hearing in which the case was held over, Mr. Fienman spoke with the DA. He was able to convince the DA that there was a mental health issue at play in this alleged offense. The DA agreed to dismiss the charges if the client sought mental health treatment.
Mr. Fienman followed up by filing for expungement, and the case was removed from his record — a better outcome than even ARD can offer in such situations.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
