Recently, a truck driver was stopped in Falls Township, Bucks County, by DOT officers who are specifically trained to observe and write citations for truck driver violations. This exposed the driver to citations for careless driving and being too heavy for the road on which he was traveling. The potential consequences of these violations included a three-point violation on his license and a $1,000 fine. Not wanting and adverse impact his license or career, the driver reached out to Pennsylvania traffic attorney Michael Fienman, who quickly worked to address his client’s concerns. In the end, the driver’s careless driving violation was amended to a no-point violation, and the fine for the local ordinance violation for being too heavy for the road was cut in half.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
