Philadelphia criminal defense attorney Michael Fienman recently assisted a nurse when an altercation with a family member led to criminal charges that put her professional license at risk. The woman was accused of pointing a firearm and making threats, which resulted in being charged with assault and possession of an instrument of a crime. Because of their violent nature, a conviction for these offenses would almost assuredly cause problems for the nurse from the state nursing board, so she contacted an attorney to review her options with the hope of securing a favorable outcome. Attorney Fienman reviewed the situation, and after collecting witness testimony, it became clear the alleged victim was not credible. Once this was presented to the prosecutor, the case was withdrawn, and her criminal record along with her nursing license were preserved.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
