Strangulation Reduced to Summary Harassment

Aug 04 2021, by Michael Fienman in Assault & Domestic Violence, Case Results

The alleged incident occurred after an apparent argument between a Montgomery County man and his girlfriend. The woman told police that the man had strangled her and obstructed her breathing. As a result, the man was charged with felony strangulation and forced to surrender all firearms that he owned.

Despite facing harsh penalties and a felony conviction, Attorney Fienman negotiated a plea for a significant reduction in charges. The man went from felony strangulation to summary harassment. Thanks to Attorney Fienman’s representation, the man was sentenced to couple’s counseling with his girlfriend and given no jail time.
