Defiant Trespassing Dismissed After An Excursion To Linfield Industrial Park

Aug 12 2016, by Michael Fienman in Arson & Property Crimes, Case Results, Criminal Defense

About 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia, in Limerick, PA, the Linfield Industrial Park stands eerily quiet, slowly decaying from a forgotten manufacturing era. The vast campus of empty structures has become a popular place for curious explorers, despite the fact that the park has been legally off-limits for some time. This restriction recently caused some unexpected concern when a high school student from Boyertown, PA entered the park to harmlessly view and photograph the ruins. Despite his innocuous intentions, the young man wound up charged with defiant trespassing and called on defense attorney Michael Fienman for help.

With no previous criminal record and an active history of volunteer and ROTC involvement, attorney Fienman did not want to see this offense negatively impacting the young man’s future opportunities. Therefore, he began fervently negotiating with the prosecution and secured his client’s enrollment in an alternative adjudication program, where after some community service, his defiant trespassing citation would be dismissed. The young man was very pleased to move on from this experience, having learned that some sights are best viewed from a safe distance.
