Bucks County Diversion Program Resolves Marijuana Charges

Apr 03 2020, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Marijuana Charges

Attorney Fienman recently helped a man who was pulled over in Bucks County and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Apparently, he stopped at a gas station that was under surveillance by the local police department for criminal activity. They were apprehended, and when the vehicle was searched, marijuana and paraphernalia were found. Without a recommendation for medical use, marijuana is illegal in Pennsylvania.

Although public perception has shifted in recent years, marijuana crimes are still prosecuted aggressively in Bucks County. In this case, attorney Fienman helped to enroll his client into a district court drug diversion program. Only available to Bucks County residents, this program is funded by County Social Services for drug evaluation and treatment.

As a result, the client received outpatient treatment and after 60 days, all charges were dismissed.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
