Fully Mitigated Sentence in Meth Possession Case

Nov 27 2023, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Drug Crimes

When a client was looking for a strong legal advocate and clear communicator, she hired attorney Fienman. The client had already pled guilty and was awaiting sentencing on several counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; she faced a maximum incarceration of two and a half years.

The client had already served several months and spent time in a rehab program, so Attorney Fienman argued forcefully with the prosecutor that she shouldn’t be sentenced to more time. After several court appearances and letters of support showing the client’s strong progress, attorney Fienman convinced the judge to agree to a fully mitigated sentence and work release eligibility. Considering the client’s circumstances, this was a favorable resolution with the fewest restrictions possible.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
