Invalid Registration Charge Dropped for Business Owner

Jun 24 2015, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Traffic Defense

The owner of a contracting business recently contacted Montgomery County law firm Fienmen Defense after he purchased a truck from a company in New Jersey. However, the company in New Jersey failed to properly process the title work. While the man was driving in Pennsylvania, he was pulled over, received a ticket for invalid registration and pled guilty to the charge.

When he realized he would be facing a 90-day license suspension for invalid registration, the man contacted Fienman Defense immediately and attorney Michael Fienman investigated the case, filing an appeal.

In addition to the appeal, attorney Fienman filed paperwork with PennDOT, putting them on notice regarding the appeal and requesting that the suspension be stopped. Pending the appeal, PennDOT agreed to stop the suspension while the case was taken to the Montgomery County Magisterial District Court 38-1-19 in Limerick.

In the end, the district attorney withdrew the charge Fienman’s client had first received. No license suspension was given and the client was refunded money that he initially paid for the guilty plea. Title work was ultimately transferred and resolved.
