Man Avoids Federal Prison through Cooperation

Jun 03 2020, by Michael Fienman in Case Results, Criminal Defense, Federal Crimes, Fraud, Theft

When confronted with over three years in federal prison for fraud in an alleged multi-million-dollar scheme, he contacted attorney Michael Fienman. With considerable experience handling federal crimes in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, attorney Fienman pursued the best possible result. Fienman’s client agreed to cooperate with the FBI and their investigation.

Because of the significant dollar amount of the scheme, when it came time for the client to be sentenced, the guidelines did not favor the client and he was facing significant time behind bars. Nevertheless, Fienman argued for leniency based on his cooperation with the government, old age, and declining health. Instead of a certain and overly harsh prison term, our client had to pay restitution at a reasonable rate, serve eight months of house arrest, and adhere to the conditions of supervised release.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
