Our client, a Nurse, was accused of taking oxycontin pills from her employer—a hospital—and fired. The woman was going through depression and suffering some medical problems, but the hospital’s reporting requirement triggered an inquiry from the Pennsylvania Nursing Board. By negotiating with the Nursing Board and the Office of General Counsel for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the woman avoided a hearing and entered into a consent agreement. Ultimately, by completing six months of probation and a course on nursing ethics, she would not see a serious impact on her license. And while her nursing record would reflect the incident, attorney Fienman went a step further and ensured the consent agreement was sanitized as much as possible to portray his client in the best light possible to future employers.
