Fake Identification And Misrepresentation of Age

In Pennsylvania, it is illegal:

  • To carry a fake ID
  • To use a fake ID to buy, or attempt to buy, alcohol
  • To tell someone you are 21 or older so they will buy you alcohol

The law defines fake identification as carrying an ID that has false information about your birth date, age and/or name even if the ID does have your own photo on it.

It is also an offense to use or carry someone else’s ID who is 21 or over.

If you are caught with a fake ID, you will have to pay a fine. The police will also notify your parents.

How A Lawyer Will Help

If your child is arrested, you need an attorney who will stand by you every step of the way, work hard to discredit any evidence – and work with you to determine the best course of action.

If a minor’s case is going to be tried in an adult court, whenever possible your attorney will try to have the case moved to a juvenile court.

Pennsylvania Minors Law

Laws for minors are described and defined in The Pennsylvania Code under Title 18, Chapter 63. Read the code here.
